2 months old already!!!

Ty was 2 months old on Tuesday. Where has the time gone??? Today we went for his 2 month check-up and our little man isn't so little anymore according to the scale. 11 lbs. and 5 oz.! At his 2 week check-up he was 7 lbs. 2 oz. and 22.25 inches long. I am still in shock. He's starting to really focus on things now...bright colors, my eyes, Todd's eyes, the T.V. (Sportscenter of course). And, he LOVES little dangly toys. The kind that hang from his pack-n-play and his carrier. He bats at them and stares at them all day. He's babbling more and smiling more which I just LOVE. He also loves jewelry and hair. He grabs mine every day along with reaching for my face when I lie down next to him. His legs are getting a fat roll on them and his kicks are getting stronger. When we stand him up he's putting quite a bit of weight on his feet too. Todd thinks he's on the verge of walking because he did that...haha!
We're loving this whole parenting thing so much more that we thought. It makes us want to do it again. Yes, we will have another but we're going to enjoy him for a while. More updated pic's are coming soon!

Where There is Love, There is Life

In my opinion, the television show Jon and Kate +8 is awesome. If you haven't seen it, you've got to watch it. They have 2 twin girls and then sextuplets. They manage their household better than most and I must admit I'm envious of how orderly they do things. I just have Ty and while it's getting easier to get out of the house it's still challenging at times. Anyhow, yesterday there was a marathon of this show (Labor Day...get it?!?!) and I was so happy to catch up on some new episodes today. Much to my surprise, Kate got a little sappy today. So, guess what happens to Audrey? You guessed right. I was sappy too! This time I had a reason (unlike the outbursts that had no explanation right after Ty was born). Of course my little man was sitting on my lap and cuddling so sweet with his big blue eyes staring at me. What triggered Kate's tears was someone questionning why she went so "over the top" for her sextuplets birthday parties. Her answer was simple. When she got pregnant with 6 she knew it was a small chance she would deliver 6 children. Now she has 6 healthy children in addition to her twin girls. While her life is so hectic and stressful and busy, it's her life. God gave her those babies because he knew she could handle it.

That leads me to think about my own life. Todd and I decided after we were married for a year that we wanted to start a family. It actually happend much quicker than we thought, and for that we are so grateful. We really had an uneventful pregnancy and the labor ended up perfect in the end. Now that Ty's here we're in awe. Sure, I still have my moments of "I need to get away for a second" and sleep deprivation but I wouldn't trade it for anything. Ty has changed my life in a way that I could never imagine. Everything has more meaning now. He's my life now.
The picture is Ty in my belly with our hands holding him. Captured Moments actually put a saying on there, "Where there is Love, There is Life". How true. And, it's a love that words cannot describe.
