Our New Home...almost!

Okay, okay these “adventures” that I’m supposed to be writing about aren’t getting down on paper. Or, typed on the computer I should say. The reason is this:

Yes, it’s our new house! We’re closing on Thursday. We’re going to Florida Saturday, returning the following Saturday and also moving and shaking that day. It’s definitely been a whirlwind as this all happened during baseball season which as most of you know is a pretty lonesome season around our home. Anyhow, thank goodness for Nana and Pop because they have came to the rescue to get Ty off my hip and occupied so that I can actually get some packing done. Don't get me wrong...I LOVE MY WEEKENDS and having him all day. I just don't have enough hands to do that and pack boxes. He lives in his door jumper, exersaucer, bumbo seat, bouncy seat, play mat, and the 18,307 toys that I surround him with. However, he just wants to sit on Mama's hip. He's such a little ladies man!

So, Florida is coming up and we shall see how relaxing a vaca with a baby is. Well, maybe I should say a vaca with 35 college guys because they tend to cause more trouble than Ty could at this age. This will be an experiment to say the least. I'm sending Todd and the team bus w/ Ty's belongings (they may be pulling a u-haul :). I'm flying with Ty Babes and it's on a flight out of the big city of Owensboro. Please say a prayer that we make it. It's a direct flight (how wonderful is that?) to Orlando, and then we're driving about 30 minutes to Winter Haven. It's not on the beach, but it's warm. And, I'm off work. And, there will be shopping...at least better shopping than what I have surrounding me now. Did I mention I'm off work?
Ty is officially a Mama's boy. I could cuddle with him for hours...even if his 7.5 month old legs dangle across my lap. He's so curious nowadays. In his mind, the remote and our cell phones should be in his hands at all times. He seriously freaks out if he can't hold them. Of course, he calls people (sorry if it was you) and does things to the remote that Mama can't figure out so hiding these gadgets has become a daily ritual of ours. He is eating his #2 foods now...mostly organic :), and he LOVE LOVE LOVES his apple juice. He burps and farts like a man (Todd's pretty proud of that) and he laughs and smiles 90% of the time. He's a roly-poly (meaning he rolls all over the place) and he's sitting up pretty good now. His door jumper keeps him entertained when his exersaucer doesn't, and his bouncer seat is pretty close to the floor (only 1 more pound until he hits the weight limit). His flat/bald spot on the back of his head is getting better and there are little fuzzy's back there now. No new words, but definitely more babbling and trying to say new things. The only 2 he'll get out that we can decipher are still "Da-Da" and "Bye-Bye". When we say "no-no" he laughs and shakes his head back and forth which of course is the cutest thing EVER.
Enough bragging. I just can't help it. Back to packing I go...then to FL, then the new house. I have the pic's, I just haven't posted. I need to get better at that!

Ty's Mommy Deals

Okay Mommy’s. How much money do you (or could you) spend at Babies R Us? I mean seriously, I get excited when I walk in the doors. There are so many little gadgets it’s hard to take it all in. I’m sounding like my Mom when I say “I’m not sure how you and Amy (my sister) made it because you didn’t have half of the necessity items they make nowadays”.
Well, today I went into Babies R Us with coupons stashed in my purse. I needed two car seats (sniff, sniff) because Ty has grown out of his. I needed two so Todd and I wouldn’t have to swap the darn thing each day. As I held back tears, I tried to read the stickers on the 50 “convertible” car seats they had. I had previously looked online for the reviews and “mommy stars” so I sort of knew what I wanted but I still wanted to inspect these contraptions that will hold Ty until he weighs 65 pounds. Yes, I said 65 pounds. You see, kids stay in car seats until they are approaching 6th grade nowadays. Well, maybe not Ty because he’s off the charts almost for height and weight. But come on…65 pounds? Times have changed because I used to sit on the floor of our car on Florida trips as a child. That’s like 15 hours without even a seatbelt. I lived to talk about it too.
Anyway, I knew what I wanted…easy to install/remove, a dark color to hide stains, and of course I wanted it to be safe. I started with the less expensive models on my stroll. I wanted the convertible kind that will “grow” with him. You know, rear facing and forward facing. Obviously the car seat Master saw my questioning eyes and he came over to talk to me about EVERY convertible car seat. He was very educated and he wanted to share every bit of information on each car seat with me. Even when I stepped away for a ladies room visit he came right back over to my cart and continued. Of course he talked me into buying 2 of the most expensive car seats, but they do have good reviews and 5 “mommy stars”.
The best part about my trip was that I had coupons. I saved $142.43 because I had coupons. FYI, if you need a car seat you get 25% off with their current coupons that I know every Baby Mommy in the world has right now. That whopping savings also included coupons for 3 new BPA free bottles/nipples, 2 tubs of formula, 10 jars of organic baby food, and 2 sporty sippy cups. I came really close to screaming like Vicki on the Real Housewives of OC but I held my composure when I checked out my receipt. Yes, I will admit that made my day.
So, Mommy friends…here are some assignments for you. Number one, what type of baby gate should I get for the top of my stairs? I REALLY don’t want to drill holes for one. I’ve hear Summer are good, but do I have to drill holes?
Also, have you ever visited www.diapers.com? I have ordered Ty some diapers, wipes, formula, diaper genie refills and baby food from there. If you use the code TyCannon, you will get $10 off and order of $50 and you’ll also get free shipping. When you set up your account, you will also be allowed to get a “code” to share. For each person that does this, you’ll get credits to your account ranging from $1-$5. You also can mail coupons to them for you to apply to your account. Questions…just ask. My email is audiepb33@hotmail.com . It really is a good deal. It’s basically like a $10 coupon.
Have any other Mommy Deals? Share please.

Happy Valentine's Day From Ty Baby

Daddy (Todd) will be gone this weekend on his first away trip for baseball this year. Ty and myself will be having a cuddly Valentine's Day as Todd will have his spot in the bed taken over by the little monkey himself. I'm not going to lie...I'll probably sleep better not having to share covers and listen to snoring! My Mom told me that White Castle's is having a candle light dinner for V-day in Louisville. Seriously Mo , Ty and I will have to pass. Can you imagine what his dipes would look like after that?
Saturday actually isn't going to be very eventful at all. I have to work, go to the gym, and then I'm picking Ty up from Diane (Todd's Mom/Ty's Nana). We'll then come home to place our lives in boxes. We're able to move some things to the new house on the 16th, so it's time for Mama to get to work.
At least I have this cute little face to look at while I'm doing it! So, Happy Valentine's Day from our little cupid. Does this picture make you want to cover him in kisses or what?!?!?!
