Daddy, come home!

The last 4 days is proof to me that God intended for children to have 2 parents. Single mothers...how in the world do you do it?
Todd left on Thursday at 4am for Florida for his annual golf trip. You know, the kind that you play 36 holes of golf each day on? Yeah, not my kind of vaca! Anyhow, I've been doing in on my own the last 4 days (with the help of Grandparents of course!) but to say I'm ready for a second of alone time would be an understatement.
Thursday morning (I was up at 4am mind you because what guy knows how to exit quietly) was the start of the fiasco. There was no milk in the house. Ty and I go to the gas station in our jammies and get milk because Ty doesn't start his day without his milk. Work is work...3 people were out. So, the 3 of us that were at work were slightly busy and worn out after the week we had. Friday wasn't much better at work...and it was also my long Friday. Sat. morning, Ty was an angel at the gym's childcare. I needed that workout like no other since I'd skipped 2 days! We came home and MiMi and Papaw were here. Halleluja! We all hung out and then Mom and I ran some errands while Papaw and Ty watched football. We went to church and Ty stayed in the nursery and was such a good boy...and then his angelic ways began to change.
I warned Mom and Dad that we should get take-out or pizza or something for supper because if we went somewhere we were going to deal with one sleepy kid. Somehow we ended up at Cracker Barrel. After we ordered Ty had a meltdown. Nothing helped, so Dad walked him around the store. We then scarfed our food down and rushed to get out. You know...one of those meals you really want to enjoy but you're so concerned about how your child is annoying EVERY person in the room you just rush and wonder why you even go out in public? Yeah, so I'll cut him some slack being that it was an hour past his usual bedtime. Needless to say, he was OUT as soon as we got home.
This morning started great. Mimi made pancakes which are Ty's favorite! He then helped Papaw hang some shades upstairs and Ty thought he was too cool holding Papaw's tape measurer. We sang the Handy Manny song and Ty danced and Papaw danced...so sweet.
Mimi and Papaw left and Ty was ready for lunch. After lunch is naptime, so off we went. He slept for about 20 minutes and then whined. I decided to leave him there...we had a football game to go to and he needed to be rested. He laid there awake for about 30 minutes before falling back to sleep. I ended up waking him up after another hour of sleeping and he was in a good mood...just a little groggy.
Off to Jon Jon's game we went. Jon is Ty's Big Buddy...Jon is so kind and gentle with Ty. We get to his game and I knew it was going to be a fiasco. As I reversed into the 1 parking spot I found (after driving around for what seemed like eternity!) the lady next to me was waving. I opened my door to get out and I said "hi". She goes, "did you not see me backing out?" (very rudely I may add). I told her no I didn't and she said, "that's what I thought" and smirked and backed out going about 50 mph. Seriously lady, my car was past your car and there would be no way for me to hit you. And, last time I checked, when you pull out you have to watch cars that are actually driving behind you. I guess someone peed in her cheerios this morning! I then get the stroller out for Ty and somehow I stick my hand into this gigantic mess of a spider web. I kill the spider (YUCK) and then try to pick the sticky web off of everything around us. Next it was time to get Ty in the stroller. We roll in and Ty's waving at everyone...his usual flirty self! We watch Jon run in and cheer for him, walk down with Kym to watch the game and of couse, Ty wants out of the stroller. After walking here and there, he then takes off running. He finds the ONLY mud pit in the place and pounces in it with his white shoes. He screams bloody murder when I removed him. He kept throwing his sippy cup, he wouldn't eat his goldies, he didn't want to be held, strolled, or walk. He also pushed his stroller into a precious little girl which resulted in her spilling her brand new coke on her adorable outfit. She was SO kind...I tried to give her money to buy and new one and she wouldn't take it. I was totally freaking out!!! I decided to stroll him a bit to see if he'd calm down and that didn't work either. He was screaming and throwing himself on the concrete (which also resulted in 2 nice scratches on his face!!!). So, at halftime we made our grand exit with all the mothers who'd been in my position before giving me their sympathy. We finally make it to the car, he's still screaming bloody murder, and after the carseat struggle (my child is stronger than an ox I'm 100% convinced) we drive away. He screamed for about 5 mintues, and then was out like a light.
At this point, I had the air conditioning on (it's 56 degrees outside today) because his "fit" made me a wreck! I get him out of his carseat when we got home and he was smiling and he waved at me and said "hi Mama". Seriously? Now he's sitting on the couch next to me, watching me type, and being a Motorboat. The tantrums were mild...but now they're in full force. He's not even 18 months old yet.
So...Daddy, get home!!!

Ty-ism's

Morning = wake up anywhere between 5:30-6:30am. If it's before 6:40, he sits in his crib. We turn the volume down on the monitor (oh, like you've never done that before PARENTS) and snooze until then.
6:40am=Todd and I take turns. One gets Ty. The other gets O's, milk, and sets up the high chair with a front row view of Oso and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. The one who gets Ty usually changes a diaper that weighs enough to do arm curls, picks up everything he's thrown out of his crib (pacy, blankie, baseball, and prayer bear), and grabs diapers to throw in the diapter bag. He takes one climb on his slide, slides down, and then off to meet O's and Milk.
7:30=Daddy takes Ty to Stacey's
by 5pm=Mommy usually picks Bubbie's up...however during non-baseball times Mommy goes to the gym after work.
5:30= Supper time. On. The. Nose. He's ready! He'll eat pretty much anything too...except grapes.
6:45=bathtime, playtime upstairs in his tunnel and slide, (Did I mention he has a slight obsession in running naked down the hallway to his bathroom?)
7:30pm = in his bed, asleep. We sometimes read a book. Sometimes Ty's to sleep for a book and he literally has his eyes closed before rocking begins. He listens to a CD of lullaby's and holds his blankie so tight. It's SO sweet!

And, then you add what happens in between there...
If you ask Ty if he's poo'd, he always says "no". He usually grabs the front of his diaper. His Daddy taught him that.
If you ask Ty who the yellow, square sponge is on TV it's "Bob-Bob". However Bob-Bob has a smart mouth and Ty will be cut off from him soon.
If there is music on, Ty is dancing. It's adorable. And, he looks at you until you join in with him. LOVE IT!
If you're eating, Ty thinks he's eating too. Maybe that's why he weighs 33.13lbs. @ 15 months.
Ty has a slight obsession with Winki. He also LOVES his big cousin Ethan. He would love to be able to keep up with Ethan, but E's just so big and fast. Ty just chases him and mocks him. Love those boys!
Ty also still holds my hand. In the car I'll let me hand/arm fall asleep if he'll just hold my hand. He rubs it and squeezes and it just melts my heart! He also does this we we go "night-nights". We're going to have a big weekend, so hopefully I can get on top of things and post pic's shortly thereafter. Elmo is also next week...WOOHOO!

Christmas in September...

So the wonderful, marvelous, photographer we LOVE made me very happy on this chilly Monday morning. She tagged me on facebook with not one, but TWO pictures of Ty Babes. The milk and cookies made him extremely happy. I can't imagine why?!?
Enjoy my friends...he truly is our favorite thing EVER!

He's a Cowboy...

14 months...as soon as this hat went on his head (thank you Karen) Ty ran. And he ran. And he ran some more. Laps around the dining room table. More laps around the kitchen bar and kitchen table. We literally had to chase him to take off the hat and get him in the tub.
I'm not sure if this means he's going to be a Kenny Chesney wanna-be or what...but he is pretty darn cute if I do say so myself...
