Top 2 Tuesday...

Top 2 Tuesday:  Random Facts about YOU!

1. I wiggle my toes all.the.time. And, if you sit next to me on the couch I put my feet under you. I really don’t care who you are. Ty does it too…and it cracks Todd and I up!
2. Socks in the bed are icky. No socks around the house either.

I vow...

I'm a crappy blogger.  I don't edit posts.  I type what I'm thinking versus what I should say.  I do not use correct English.  And,  I don't upload my good pic's (just my i-phone pic's) because it's easier.  I have GOT to get better...or at least I keep telling myself that.  I love reading others blogs and they all seem to have so much thought put into them.  Once I'm home from work and able to do personal stuff on my own computer all I really want to do is shop online and stalk facebook pages and blog sites.  I vow to do better.
However, I must share that I washed Ty's 0-3 month clothes last night and I'm in shock that my baby boy wore those cute little clothes.  How on earth did he fit into those?  How did those tiny little newborn diapers (I had a stack that were left over) fit on his little hiney?  Do you hear "Don't Blink" in the back of your mind now?  I sure do.
I'm going to vow to use better pictures.  And, post about the fun things we do like Playhouse Disney (and Sesame St. Live in Oct...ooops!).  Oh, and we're going to FL again the week of Easter so maybe that'll be the perfect time to start...
Let me quote what my Ty Baby would say..."oh shoop".  I think he's confused with "oh snap" from the Disney channel and "shoot".  At least that's what I'll believe for now ;)

Big Bro/Little Bro Obsession...

Mommy's been shopping!  I can't wait to actually have my hands on some of these items (some are still in transit)  Ahhhh...adrenaline rush?  I have got to quit this late night internet shopping.  God gave me boys for a reason...he knew I didn't want to get a 2nd job because if I were having a girl it'd be 100 times worse!
Let me share...
the first shirt for Ty is one that we bought for him a long, long time ago:

We have this shirt already (thank you Goldenshop http://www.etsy.com/shop/goldenshop).  She made Ty's 1st b-day shirt/bib/hat last year and now she's making a "Lil Bro" onesie for Ace Man.  Ty's got to wear this a few times already, but I think it'll look best with (gasp) white pants.  You know...he could totally Don Johnson it down the hospital hallway.  He likes to spike his hair up these days ;)

And next we have:

These are "Big Brother" scrubs.  This will be Ty's hospital delivery outfit (his gift from us is a Fisher Price Dr. Kit that he's tried to play with numerous times already).  Yes, I've planned his outfits for hospital visits.  We don't even know our exact plan of action on what Ty will be doing during our stay at the hospital, but his outfits sure are planned!  Ace will also have a set of "Little Brother" scrubs but they only come in 0-6 months so I'm not so sure they will fit him right away.

Next:

This little hat is handmade from another "etsy" seller (http://www.etsy.com/shop/ForStitchesSake).  This will hopefully be able to be used to replace the standard pink and blue striped hat the hospital gives to the babies.  Because baseball is life, right?

And...

Matching baseball field shirts.  I wanted to get Ty one this year, and like I can buy him one and not Ace!  They say "Panthers Baseball" around the circle.  The only problem is they are white.  Ty and his white shirts...oh. dear. Lord.  Considering he needs to be hosed down after Todd's baseball games we shall see how long this shirt stays presentable in public!

And...

a cute burp cloth and wipes case.  Ty received a wipes case as a gift and we've used it everyday for 20 months.  Needless to say, it needs to be replaced.  When you're using a Nike backpack as a diaper bag (personalized of course ;), you MUST have cute goodies on the inside!

Next...

this is because I have a slight obsession with personalization.  And, sports.  The "A" is actually a baseball fabric that's kind of hard to see.  Have I told you lately I sort of have an addiction to etsy?

Ace also has a outfit that we bought the day we found out he was a BOY...adorable, but not suitable for a picture without Ace Man wearing it!

I'm getting brave here and trying to make my own basket liner's for Ace's storage baskets in his room.  I think it'll be sort of easy.  Maybe.  We shall see.  I'm buying the material on ebay tonight (vintage baseball) and I will be going to the fabric store tomorrow for some directions on how to use hem tape.  It can't be THAT hard.  Since we used the coordinating baby bumper for Ty's room and we are not this time (thank you Dr. Laura for making the decision for me), the room needs some more fabric or SOMEthing to bring it all together.  The shade will just be bamboo so there's not any type of window treatment to do so.  And, bed skirts are annoying and "skirt" and "boy" don't mesh well.  Maybe some pictures of the nursery will show up on here sooner than later.  As in, before Ace gets here.  Vintage baseball is the theme!

I can't wait to coordinate the boys outfits this summer.  That just may be the only time Ty will allow it.  I've had to get Ty some 4t's already for Spring (heading to FL next week), and I did good and held off on Ace because I'm hesitant on his sizes.  Oh...but outlet mall in Destin is calling my name.  That's a little piece of heaven right there :)

Top 2 Tuesday: Names

Oh, names…one of the FIRST thing people strangers ask me when they see my baby bump.
Our last name is slightly difficult for people to “get”. It’s Lillpop. Lill-pop. So, why do we always get Lollipop, Wilcox, Lill-eee-pop, etc.? Yeah, so aside from just being ignorant (yes, that referring to my customers at work that see my name on my desk and STILL call me Mrs. Lill-eeee-pop in a Southern accent), it's annoying really.
Todd and I talked about baby names before we were engaged. We knew we liked Ty. We also liked Caden. Actually, we pondered “Caden Ty”. We liked Ty by itself…not Tyson or Tyler (another question or assumption we get quite often and really…it’s kind of annoying). Ty is also (an honest coincidence) the initials of Todd Young (Todd’s name). So…that led to just Ty. Ty Caden? Nope, Caden was too close to Cannon. Cannon is my maiden name. So…walaaa…that’s how we came up with Ty Cannon Lillpop.
Now on to names for baby number 2…
Ace. Simple, short, and I just like it. Yes, it took Todd a while to grow accustomed to it, but he’s on board. Edward is my Dad’s middle name (he goes by Eddie) and also my Papaw's (my Mom’s Dad’s) middle name. My sis also did this for Blake’s name…very appropriate for 2 very important Men in our lives!
So, it’ll be Ace Edward Lillpop.
Now…what if we have 3 babies. Bahahahahahahaaa. I think as I am now in my 3rd tri-mester, Todd’s gone 98% of the time with work/baseball, and if you haven’t caught the “theme” of things by now...many things are just annoying me these days it's probably not the best time to ask me this question!
But if we do opt for this down the road...
I’ll answer the “are you trying for a girl” question that people ask me at least once a day. No, we are not going to “try for a girl”.
Are we going to try to have another baby? How about I have Ace Man first and see how life treats us! And, that’s exactly what it would be…trying for another BABY. We’d be happy to have a boy or a girl...hello, it’s not like you can pick!
If we did have another little one, what would our names be?
Hmmm…a girl is easy. It always was Addy. Why? No reason really.  Todd was liking it too actually. And, a middle name? Well, well, well. First choice was Addy Mae. Yes, we’d call her Addy Mae too. It sounds like a “country bumpkin” Todd says. But, Mae has some meaning. My Aunt Brenda (my Mom’s sis) is Brenda Mae and my Mamaw Lynch (my babysitter, adopted grandma, awesome, awesome person) is Mrs. Mae. And, I had a great-grandma on my Mom’s side that was a Mae.
Or, Addy Elizabeth. That’s kind of a mouthful for Lillpop as the last name, but Elizabeth used to be my middle name until I got married. I took Cannon as my middle name when I changed my last name. This is Todd's first choice.
Or, we could always get crazy and go with Reece. Reece Elizabeth? That’s quite a few E’s. Hmmm…it’s not like it’s happening anytime soon so we’d have quite some time to decide.
If we had another boy, right now I’m going to say Cruz. Why? I don’t know…I just like it.
Of course, Todd would laugh in my face.  Why do guys get opinions anyway?  I mean, it's not like they carry the baby or can get something the size of a watermelon out of something the size of a lemon.  They don't have hormones (although I beg to differ on many days) and they don't have to worry about fitting into "pre-baby" clothes again.  I like Mom's kind of get the upper-hand in what to name the baby that's lived inside her belly!
And, for the record, when we chose Ty and Ace for our boys names we were not thinking of “T” or “A” names to match Todd and Audrey. Yes, our Christmas card will be signed “Love, Todd, Audrey, Ty and Ace”. But it’s just another coincidence.
...kind of like 2 of my best friends and sister all having boys. I think it’s just luck!
Anyhow, my indecisiveness is my indicator that we're absolutely, 100%, NOT ready to say "yeh" or "neh" to baby #3.  You go from Man-to-Man defense to Zone defense overnight.  And, I'm not sure with our work schedules we could be fair to the babies.
So, there you have it.  And, I guess for now I'll say my top 2 names are Addy and Cruz.
(or, maybe I'll just opt for a puppy!)

Ty-ism's

Poor kiddo.  We've got some teaching to do.  Ty knows Ace is in Mommy's belly.  But, he also thinks Ace is in Daddy's belly, Aunt Sissy's belly, Mimi's belly, Papaw's belly, Nana's belly.
And, when he goes to my belly,  he really thinks he's in my belly button.  He dig's his index finger in there and wiggles it.  Yes, I still have an inny and it's pretty "in".
And, he thinks he needs to raise my shirt to show the world where Ace is too.  Sorry in advance if my little stinker tries to show your belly or points to your belly and says "baby".  We're working on it.  Promise.
He also told me tonight that his Baby Brother's name is Santa.  I busted out laughing, which of course egged it on more.  He's going to be SLIGHTLY disappointed when we don't bring home Santa from the hospital.
Innocence is adorable.  Why can't it last forever?

Wednesday RANDOMNESS...

Ty was born slightly early.  I guess I started labor at 35.5 (after numerous questions, denial, me asking the nurse if I could just come in to get checked on my lunch hour, etc., etc.) and then I delivered at 35.6after a day full of devil meds pitocin.  Me, being the genious that I am, opted to NOT get my epidural until my Dr. asked me WHY I hadn't received it yet.  (Note to self...as soon as I sign the papers to check in with Ace I will give myself the epidural if I have to)  Ty arrived healthy and happy; he was 6.12lbs. and 19.75 in. long.  The picture above was taken as we were leaving the hospital.  He doesn't look like a month too soon baby does he?  What would he have grown to if I would have delivered at 40 weeks?
Okay, so the point of that little intro is that because Ty was early his lungs were a little under developed. He was fine at birth, but the week before his first Christmas (at about 5 and a half months) we were in the E.R. in Louisvlle.  His oxygen levels were ridiculously low so "Let the Breathing Treatments Begin" became our motto from that point on.

Poor Little Ty Baby was a trooper taking those breathing treatments.  It was almost like he knew if he could just tought it out for 20 minutes that he'd feel better afterwards.  He showed very little resistance with that crummy old mask on his face. Many days we did them every 4 hours.  Spring time came and it wasn't as bad (we were VERY fortunate with the lovely Ohio Valley allergies that come with the territory!).  But, flare ups have occurred on and off ever since then.  We pretty much don't leave the house without the our lovely nebulizer and albuterol.
What also comes with these flare up's are coughing spells that sound terrible.  And, since little babies don't understand how to get rid of mucus like adults do...it usually results in some projectile vomiting.  Nice, right?  Well, last week I was FINALLY told I could give Ty some Mucinex.  I mean, 38 lbs. has it's advantages when you're just 19 months old.
As I scrolled through all the options of med's at the pharmacy, I noticed something that really just didn't make sense to me.  The words Non-Drowsy were on children's medication?  Do what?  Why would you give a child non-drowsy medicine?
Have you ever had a child on crack steroids to stop their coughing?  The term "bouncing off of the walls" rings a bell with me.  I vividly remember just this past NYE.  Ty slept a total of about 5 hours the 48 hours leading up to the last day of 2009.  Yes, I said 5 hours in 2 days.  Todd and I were about to commit ourselves...we were more sleep deprived then that when we brought him home from the hospital.
It. Was. Awful.  Needless to say, we stopped the crack nonsense and cut those badboys up into 3's.
I'm not saying I'm going to be a "benedryl Mom so I can get some rest"...but non-drowsy?
YEAH RIGHT!!!

Thanks for the Compliment

Before being a Mom…

I never had been puked on,

I dry heaved when changed dirty diapers,

I never knew what “love at first sight" really meant,

I had never picked anyone’s nose or been snotted on,

going to the gym was a given EVERY day before work,

my Mom and Dad greeted ME when I arrived at their home (they literally grab the car door to open it before I park in the drive-way to see Ty Baby),

I slept…continuously…through the night without looking at the baby monitor,

I took showers without an audience,

I went potty without a little boy standing right next to me awaiting to flush the toilet,

and, the phrase “earmuffs Ty” was never used…

Before I was a Mom, I was just Audrey. Now I’m Ty’s Mom. That’s what they call me at Ty’s Pre-school, Y-Wee Care, the nursery at church, and Kinder-musik. And, honestly…that is absolutely the best compliment I have ever been given.

Making you Smile on Monday-I Want To Be Like Daddy

I love this picture.  This was taken last season (2009).  Ty looks like a little butterball baby, and Todd was so happy to see him during games (and after).  Ty thought Daddy could hold him and play with him while he was coaching...poor kiddo.  He would scream "Dada" over and over again...to the point where he would draw an audience.  Poor Ty Baby couldn't walk last season so his frustration of being held or strapped into his stroller was not much fun when all he really wanted to do was crawl around the ballpark.
This year should be interesting...
1.  19 month old BOY running EVERYWHERE
2.  19 month old BOY that doesn't understand Daddy works on a baseball field
3.  Very prego Mommy chasing Ty Baby for double-headers on Sat./Sun. home games
All I have to say to that is thank goodness for Grandparents!  And, the indoor hitting facility I can "cage" him into (with hopes of long, deep-sleep naps following)
Good luck this weekend Daddy...home games are "gimmies", right?
Diamonds are this girl's best friend...hint, hint :)
