Eatin' those words

Yes, I'm eating those very words I typed yesterday.  Ty came home today in a mismatched mess of an outfit and I knew what happened!  He matter of factly informed me that "he peepeed in his pants today cus he forgot about the potty".
Really?
Dude, that's ALL we talk about.  How do you forget!?!?!  Potty this, poo that, underwears this...
His take home sheet told me "Ty needs a shirt, pants, and underwear" tomorrow.  I read this outloud and when Ty heard me he said, "Mama, tomorrow I wear my Woody Buzzy's okay Mama?"  I'm beginning to think he pee's himself so he can swap characters out on the undies.  Not cool.  So not cool.
Unless you're a 2 year old.
8 weeks until we're back to the beach.  8 weeks to make sure my kid isn't the kid that makes the other kids clear the pool

Dentist Prep

In preparation for Ty's first trip to the dentist that is approaching in February, teeth brushing has become a popular topic in our house.  Ty wants to make sure everyone is brushing their teeth...
yes, i know this picture is sideways...no clue as to why.  do a little neck stretch to right, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.

because if Buzz, Woody, Dino, and Alien get their teeth brushed, Ty does too!
Can you imagine how long this whole teeth brushing deal takes each morning?  And, night?  Surely this will give us the parents of the year award for a cavity free dental trip.
On another note, potty traning is going good.  For a 2.5 year old, he's doing exceptionally well (I don't want to eat these words, but I must say he's caught on rather quickly!).  I can count the number of accidents he's had on one hand for the last 2 weeks so I'll take it!
This weekend I had my first trip with Ty to a public restroom when he had to go.  We opted for the handicapped stall for a little more room.  He was amazed--looking under the stalls, playing with toilet paper, talking so EVERYONE could hear every detail of what was going on (I needed to go too...).
Needless to say it was an experience.  An embarrassing one.

Undies ARE a big deal

Yesterday was Ty's first day of wearing UNDIES (or underwears as he calls them) to school.  Ty thought he was superbad wearing Cars undies under his jeans.  He totally did check out his hiney in the mirror too (excellent blackmail for his girlfriends one day).  I know I'm his Mama, but looked ridiculously cute.  I did NOT take a picture because he actually has worn them before...

Outside.  But this time is the real deal and he's rockin' it!
He had one accident yesterday and it was during nap time.  He was so sad...he apologized to all of his teachers and kept telling him he was sorry and hugging them.  Sweet baby!
Today he poo'd in his undies and that was the first thing he told me, "mama, I poo'd on my Cars".  And, he was holding the yucky undies in a ziploc bag like it was a snack or something.
Oh, the joys of being a Mama.  I love it...poo and all!

Mama went to Austin...

alone.  No kids.  No husband.  Just me.  And, it was heaven.
Taryn and her family moved to Austin the last week of September.  I booked this trip about a month before they moved.  To say I've been looking forward to it is an understatement.
Everything in Austin is so new and classy.  Their drugstores have stacked stone on them as do their banks, their McDonalds and their oil changing places.  I still didn't figure out the difference between a ranch and farm, but I did figure out that I like Texas better (I like that burnt orange color!).  And, while it rained the entire weekend, it was okay.  I was there to see Taryn.  Rain doesn't stop us doing what we do best.  Shop and Eat!
We ate at Bess Bistro on Friday night (which I had just read about Sandra Bullock being there for NYE 2 weeks ago in my US Weekly)--it's HER restaurant.  It's very quaint and cute and the perfect.  Then we rocked it out on MJ and Just Dance.  And lets just say I wanted to be like Kris Kross.  However, for some reason, Pants on the Ground became the theme song for the weekend.
Saturday we shopped 'til we dropped at the San Marcos outlet mall.  I'm convinced heaven will have an outlet mall like that and I'll have an open line of credit with a no-repayment feature.  Sweet Jesus, that place was amazing.  And, I'm pretty sure we only shopped in 1/16th of the stores.
Ricky got a Smoker from T for his birthday and while he was a Virgin smoker, he did a fabulous job cooking dinner for the crew.  Good enough for me to call Todd and say "so if I got you a smoker would you use it or would it sit in the back garage and collect dust".  Maybe Father's Day will be good to him (and me if it results in a hubby that cooks???)
Sunday was a lazy day...we shopped at TJ's (like Taryn and I would go a weekend together and not go there) and then went to Chuy's to eat.  DELISH!!!  Thank goodness there isn't one here because I'd probably become a regular.   Then Taryn and I napped and worked out.  And then ate leftovers from the feast the night before.  Did I mention it was yummy?  (and do you notice a theme here...eat...eat...eat?)
Today the sun finally came out on my way to the airport.  However, even though it was rainy the entire weekend, it was so relaxing.  I had ball with Ethan and Aiden.  Those 2 little boys are soooooo sweet and adorable!  Ethan and Aiden are so fun to be around.  It kind of showed me what Ty and Ace will be like in a few years--partners in crime and bff's!
It was so relaxing to not have responsibilities of my own this weekend.  I'm ready (as I'll ever be) for baseball season to start this week...I guess.  It's kind of bittersweet really...Todd is gone so much and I know the boys will miss him.  But, Ty does think it's super-cool to see his Daddy on the field and he really likes to run the bases after the games!
I missed my boys like crazy while I was gone, but absence made my heart fonder once again.  As soon as I pulled in the garage the boys were all in the doorway screaming to hurry and jumping up and down (Todd too...lol).  And, that's where I belong.  Because to them, home is where your Mama is.

7 month post

It's been awhile since I did a month post...better late that never, right?

Mr. Ace Man.  My little Squirt.  My Boo-Boo.  My baby boy is 7 months old.  And, he's currently working on cutting his 8th tooth.  Yes, 8th.  He's still a drooling machine...but now at least his teeth are coming through.  His gums are redder than red can be.
And, he said MAMA!!!  Like, he really said it instead of Ma or MMMMMMMa.  It's the real deal and he totally means it.
ACE-7 months...I wish my rolls were this cute!

In this last month Ace has...
-become a pro-sitter-upper.  Actually he prefers to stand (holding on to something) about 99% of the time.
-tries to get into crawling position...he gets there and then kind of wads his arms and kicks his feet.  He's trying to "get" it, sweet baby!
-made the change to soy milk and it's been AWESOME
-is still on a month-long antibiotic for fluid on his ear...those darn ears...ugh!
-is STILL smiling all the time even when he feels like poo
-is loving playing with his big Bro's toys (any suggestions on how to prevent this with a 2 year old big Bro who has 100's of little "men" that are not appropriate for Ace Man yet?)
-is REACHING for everything...finds a way to get it whatever he wants...and Todd and I think he has Go-GO Gadget arms.

He's still a little blondie and because his hair is so light, it looks like he has none.  I hope he has more hair by the time we have his first beach trip this April to protect his noggin'!
Ace wears 18 month clothes (mostly), size 4 shoe, and weights 23 lbs.  I hate to compare my kids--although it happens by everyone including Todd and I.  But, as of now we think Ace will be our spunky one.  He's a kicker, he's already got a little mischevious grin, and since day one he's been stronger than an ox (just like his Big Bro).  Comparing pictures, they still look exactly alike if we were comparing ages.  We laugh about that  all the time...you know cause we could just split our pictures in half nad they'd never know one kid had more than the other!  Seriously, Todd and I feel like we had twins 22 months a part!
Ace Man, your smile melts my heart.  The way to reach for my face just to feel it...your "love reaches".  I crave them because you usually giggle and then sigh.  You cover me in drool every day and I love it.  As much as I wish you'd stay this age forever, I know God has big plans for you baby boy.  You're going places Boo Boo, and Mommy and Daddy will love you forever.

Never thought I'd EVER talk about poo this much but...

it's potty training time.
We talk about poo and underwears and wee wee's and ding-dongs like it's our job.
Because it is.  Ty is trying his darn-dest to "get it".  And, we're trying our best to help him.
But, pooing and peepeen' are a little out of our control.
Ty's still gets confused on farting and poo'ing.  He goes in the corner and gets all red faced...and then farts.  Loud.  And, it's normal for him to say "oh Mama, I just farteded".  My poopoo is silly."
Or, "Dada, I poo'd.  Change my diaper".  So, Todd goes and gets the diaper and the wipes and Ty runs from him.  He'll yell from the top of the steps, "Dada, I not poo, I farteded".
When Ace farts, Ty tells him, "Acey, you have bad mammers".  (manners)
When Ace has an icky diaper, Ty tells us "Acey's a baby.  He poo's his diapers."
When we ask why does he where diapers then (because he is starting to tell me he's a big boy and Acey's the baby) and he responds with...
"Mama, I Ty Baby".
Yes, he knows his way to my heart!
So, while he's not perfected being officially potty trained, we still look at sights like this daily...

And, we'll laugh each time we see this sight because it's just that cute.

Christmas at Mimi and Papaw's

A little video of Ty Man and Ethan.  Ty LOVES Ethan and Ethan loves him.  This was taken in my parents basement.  The boys got to spend 4 days in the 'ville for Christmas and Todd and I were there for 2.  Todd and I snuck in a date night with dinner and a Cards game in Bowling Green with our bff's Stephanie and Bryce while the boys got to play with their cousins!  The boys LOVE Mimi and Papaw's house!  Nothing like talking about poo on video...but then again I live in a house of boys and potty training is the "in" thing these days...
