Daddy Takes Ty to the Dentist

Daddy takes Ty to the Dentist.  Daddy has one task.  "Take more pictures than I would.  Wow me", I yelled as they walked out the door yesterday morning.
I even texted him a reminder.  "more pics than Mama would expect".  You know, because Mama's are supposed to be the one's taking their babies to the Dentist for the first time, right?
Well, here was the first one:

Ty.  Dentist.  Daddy took this pic.
And there you go.  Mama's only momento of Ty's first Dentist trip.  A picture of Ty holding his stickers and dental floss.  A picture that is from Todd's i-phone (okay, I do that too but at least they're pictures that look like my child!) and it's taken at an angle that is just weird.
Where's the picture of Ty playing the chair or the Dentist looking at him?  Where's the "open wide" pic and the the assistants teaching him how to brush correctly pics?
There are none.  Todd officially owes me for this one.  And, he knows it!
Ty didn't really "dig" the Dentist...although he did think he had pretty cool Neno and Dorie (Nemo and Dora) fishies.
The good news:  Ty's teeth are GOOD!  His spacing is great in the front, in the back they're a little tight so we need to make sure we floss (maybe Daddy will pay me back for his lack of pictures with daily flossing for Ty???)
Oh, and Ty has no "Capities".  I guess singing the Grease song each morning and night..."washa-washa-washa, brusha-brusha-brusha..." actually works!

Singing in Salsarita's

Who ever thought they would see Todd singing in a restaurant singing kiddie songs?

video

So what if it was Salsarita's and they just may know us by name there! It's moments like these that I'll laugh about down the road.  Okay, so I'll probably cry happy tears too.  This video is so REAL.  So typical of these 4 wild little boys not able to sit still, singing a restaurant (not caring who is in there or how loud and annoying we are), and Todd's right there in the middle of it.
Love those boys...

Happy Valentimes Day

Yes, that's an "M" in that title for a reason. When I got home from the gym this morning Ty said "Mama, will be my Valentimes?".  Of course I picked him up and tried to eat him and then Acey got all excited and was squealing "Mama, Mama" which then turned into one mess of a group hug, doing circles in the kitchen with Mama holding both of her Valentimes.  (I believe that was about the time I told Todd that I wasn't going to work today.  I was officially going to call in because, well, my kids were just too cute to leave them today!)
But, Mama sucked it up and went to work like a big girl.  It wasn't long after that I received an email from Captured Moments which got all warm and fuzzy inside because I got to share this:
Ty and Acey - 2011
And then all was right in the world because these little happy dudes (and 1 big dude) are what I get to come home to each day.  Okay, and because I got a fab cupcake at work too.
Happy Valentimes to everyone from the Lillpops!

Ty's Valentine's

Idea Courtesy of Taryn
Ty has his Valentine's Day party at school tomorrow and this is the Valentine he's handing out.  He told me he was going to give them to the girls because they are princesses.  He told me this when we were in bed earlier this evening...right after he prayed "God is great, God is good, Thank you for the Food (exclaiming "FOOD" with his super-hero fist pump) Amen (double fist pump)."
Umm, we're in bed and thanking God for our food.  Probably not the best time but I'll take it.
Acey didn't get to make a homemade Valentine this year.  He just wasn't getting the whole sit, smile, and make a fist.  We do have professional Valentine's though and he is so stinkin' cute (biased, I know).  His eyes are so blue and pretty...and these pictures on the cards are some of my favorites!
Saturday Todd and I have a date night and Sunday I have a date with my boys (and friends) to Kindermusik.  It's a V-day playdate so I'm sure it'll be a ball as usual.  Baseball season is in full swing (literally) so it's definitely made things a little more hectic than usual.  I'm all about a routine and I think Ty is too.  He knows the drill--although he likes to test his boundaries at times.  We are just trying to make sure Acey is on that same routine as us.  He's still a 2-a-day napper and Ty's an afternoon napper.  So, these weekends are a little tricky to try and get them to go down for their second naps together.
Poor Acey has been sick and is on 2 meds...I'm praying he'll smile during his photo session tomorrow afternoon.  I think he's getting another tooth-working on #9 I believe.  His hair is growing in a little more, but it's whiter than white can be!
Ty is really interacting with Ace more and more since Ace is trying to be more mobile.  Ace isn't standing by himself, but he wants to stand all the time.  We've started saying "Swiper, no swiping" to him because he will get anything he wants to.  And, of course, laugh and smile at us when he gets caught.
Something tells me he'll get away with a lot more than he should during his lifetime!

Superbowl Halftime Shows are Kind of a BIG Deal

Todd and I met the night when this happened:

Except, we saw the flash.  We weren't together, but we attended the same Superbowl Party at Bryce and Steph's house.  He followed me into the kitchen and "stalked me" as I like to joke with him.  I wasn't really interested in him at first (sounds kind of brutally honest but...) because a. I was living in Owensboro "temporarily" while I finished Grad school and b.  I was kind of not really into having a boyfriend at that time.  Not to mention the chick that he left to "stalk" me in the kitchen...
Well, I was coaching basketball and he was starting his busy traveling time.  I was busy, he was busy, yada, yada and then he called me on Easter Sunday to wish me a Happy Easter.  Haha...who does that?
We went out the next night with my roommate and after that we pretty much went out/hung out/saw each other every.single.day we were both in town.  For about 3 months I was in denial.  "This is just temporary--I'll never live in Owensboro after I'm finished with school" I told him over, and over again.  Then, after that 3 month mark, I finally admitted he was my boyfriend.  Then I told him I loved him back.  Then, well, we got married.
And, we danced to the "Dirty Dancing" song, as people call it:

First Dance...I've Had the Time of my Life
That will be 5 years ago on November 25th this year.  (don't forget Honey)
This past Sunday, during the 2011 Superbowl halftime show Black-Eyed Pea's rocked out to their version of I've Had the Time of My Life.  We danced in the family room and this time, Ty and Ace joined us.
Yeah, we're rock-stars like that.

My Valentine

So, this is what my little Valentine looked like in 2009...

And, 2010...

Then I get a facebook message today referring to our V-day session we had on Sunday that reads:  "I'm working on your images and I love, love, love them!!!! The boys are soooo stinkin cute! They did such a great job."
It was from our photographer, Kate Higdon.
I melted.
