Y3W: I HATE SNAKES

I'm the first to admit:  I HATE SNAKES.
They're sneaky and mischevious and ugly and ewwwwww.  They're just nasty.
Lately, however, it seems like I'm surrounded by snakes.
Remember this post:  Brock's Birthday Party ?
You know, the one with snake?  Yeah, I'm STILL having nightmares about that thing.
Ty?  Not so much.
The week after Brock's party he went to GG's (Todd's Mamaw's house) and he came home with a friend:
Say hello to "Slipper Snake".  Yes, he's in MY bed.
Ya'll, he's obsessed.  And I'm petrified.  I don't care if it's fake and it was outside on Mamaw's porch to keep the birds away.  That thing makes me want to say the "f" word  bad words.  Well, Steph knows that thing scares the shit out of me and tonight as I was on my way out the door to Target she calls to tell me they caught a snake.  I'm all, "Shut Up.  You did?  Why?  On purpose?".  So of course Ty and I have to check out this stupid snake.  Here's Ty checking it out: (sorry, it was dark out already)

Slipper-Snake's Brother and Ty

Where are youuuuuuuuuu?
I have this fear that this snake (which wasn't a little black snake mind you) has baby snakes or Mama and Daddy snakes just lurking around the neighborhood.  Yeah, I forgot to mention that Bryce got this a least 3 ft. snake in their FRONT YARD.
Told ya it was BIG!
I get that we kindasorta live in the country and it's also like 2 miles from the Ohio River but still.  Snakes make me sick.  I can deal with the deer and the turtles we see daily, but snakes?  Not so much.
I think Slipper-snake's going to go to rubber snake heaven this weekend.
Additional plans for the weekend:  2 soccer games, Todd's fall baseball double-header, my parents are coming down Sunday with Ethan to hang out, and we're packing for the BEACH!!!
Cheers!

It's "OK" if...

It's Okay If...
I watch this video 57 times a day because it makes me smile...
video
I can do that.  I'm the Mama.  And, he's cute ifidosaysomyself.
Here's another.  I just can't get enough...
video
Oh yes I'm a lucky Mama!
In other news, Ty and Ace will be our town's Christmas Parade on the float with our Sign Language teachers.  We're signing to the songs we've learned!  We seriously rock it out to the cd each night (and I may or may not have Todd on video acting like he's at the club dancing) that I may or may not use as blackmail one day ;)
Is it okay if Ace and Ty will ONLY sign "Mama", "Eat", "Milk" and "Cookies"?
Yeah, I think so.  They're kind of a big deal!

Y3W: Chef in Training

Ty Man and Boo getting ready to bake Daddy's B-Day Cake
Loving these little dude's on this rainy Saturday morning.  The rain is actually a blessing for us.  Ty's soccer was cancelled and now we won't have to miss the game due to his lovely ear infection that just won't go away.
Todd's birthday is Tuesday, so what a better time to make a cake with my boys!!!  (fyi, it's also free ice-cream day at Cold Stone on Tuesday.  HOLLA!)
I hope my boys love being in the kitchen forever.  Talk about making their future wife happy!
Cheers to the weekend ya'll.  We've got a Daddy to celebrate!

HHH-Chicken

I can't make this stuff up...
After I picked the boys up today from school, I was going through all his "papers" because they're kind of a big deal.  We get reports each day about what the boys ate, when they poo'd, what learning activities they're working on, what craft they're doing, and what books they're reading.  We also get oodles of crafts and fun stuff that makes me proud.  (and also makes me appreciate their teachers and their school...and it makes my boys spending 9.5 hours EACH day NOT in my care just a tad bit easier.)  You know, like handprint paintings and cute little make and takes I'll keep forever and ever.
Anyhow, the letter of the week for Ty's class is "H".
They get these little paper books that have pictures of thing things than start with "H".  We call it "homework" and when you're 3 years old, "homework" is cool.
Well, as we're driving on the way home, Ty starts reading his homework and pronouncing his "H's"...HHH-House, HHH-Hippo, HHH-Heaven, HHH-Chicken.  He said to himself "Chicken, dats not an "H"!
Then he said, "Oh Mama.  It says Hocka-doodle-doo!"
He was so proud.
The Chicken was a Hen.  A HHH-Hen.

Mama and Ty Cannon.  Yep, I'm his Mama.
And, yes, I realize this picture is rough.  Screw it.  I'm ALWAYS behind the camera and anything we video.  I really need to work on that.

Our LAZY Weekend

How a short video of cute-ness on this rainy, Monday morning:
video

In other news, I committed myself to run the "mini" as my fellow "Louisvillians" call it.  It's the Derby Festival Half-Marathon.  It's in April.  Yes, it's the 2nd to last weekend of Todd's Baseball season.
I will do this.  For me.  My goal?  Less than 9 minute miles.  I've done this race twice before and ran it in 2:04 as my PR.  Yeah, some PR right?  But I ran 13.1 miles.  And, I will do it again.
Oh, and Ty is getting better.  Thanks for the emails and phone calls...he's one tough cookie.  We hope to be back on the soccer field this weekend with NO tears.
Weight?  I'm down 20.  I still have 15-20 to go.  And, I ran 4.5 miles this morning at 5:15am.
Playdough anyone?
Ty Man and Ty's Mama.  I love saying that!
This weekend we had to get creative about keeping Ty in the house.  It was gorgeous, but Ty has got to get his lungs healed before we run around outside again.
Saturday, we made teeth and letters and of course, snakes, with our playdough toys.  Ace may or may not have ate a container or two, but he survived!  I did find a new recipe for homemade playdough I'd like to try: Jello Playdough  !
Sunday, Todd took Ty to see Lion King 3d and he loved it.  In fact, he informed me this morning that I was taking him after school today.  I'm pretty sure I'm going to have a disappointed kiddo this afternoon.
Cheers to a new week and cooler temps!  (And, to the CARDS winning Saturday!)

WW: It's Wordful...and Funny

Let's Talk Ty.
So yesterday we went to the Allergist because he was having "issues".  Breathing "issues".  Poor kiddo.  His darn lungs...
Anyhow, he has pneumonia.  And, fluid on his right lung.
But first lets back up and talk about the Dr. appt's that led up to this diagnosis.
Of course when we get to the Dr. Ty said the famous, "Mama, I gotta poop" line.  Really?  You held it in JUST for the Dr.'s office, didn't ya bud?
The potty is a one room deal and the nurses are right outside the door.  Ty is all "Mama, leave.  I need privacy" and holding his hand up as if to "shush" me.  I turn my back to give him his requested privacy (but, I'm still jealous I don't get privacy when I go to my potty-room thanks to 4 blue-eyed boys that corner me every.single.time).
So, he's poo-ing in the Dr.'s office and when he's done he hops up and says, "Mama, it wooks wike snakes again.  Wook! See?"  And, he's all expressive with his innocent face and he was shaking his head to emphasize that snake-poo is clearly on his last nerve.
I couldn't do anything but agree with him.  And, laugh.
And, as we walked out, the nurses couldn't either.
Ty stole my glasses.  Doesn't he look all smarty pants in his dino-jammies?
Doc. checks us and sends us to get an x-ray of his chest.
In the waiting room Ty is truly being a good boy.  He was very polite as we waited nearly 30 minutes in the waiting room.  Todd came to bring me our insurance card (yup, we're down to one somehow...) and when he left Ty throws up a peace sign and says "Peace Daddy!".
Really?  Where did that come from?
The entire waiting room cracked up.  Little ham.
The grand finale, however, is when he farted.  He bent over to mess with one of the 1,343 mosquito bites on his leg and when he bent over he totally let one rip.  For the first time that I know of, he was laughing but really trying hard not to.  He was embarrassed.  As a Mom who thinks farting can be funny...sometimes..., I asked him "what do you say?"  He did say "excuse me" in between his laughs he was trying to hold in.  He then walks up to me and whispers, "Tell Daddy I farted-ed.  I'm funny!"
Except Ty doesn't whisper quietly.
Needless to say, Ty was the entertainment of the waiting room yesterday.
Now Acey...

Never in my life did I imagine how much a Huggies wipes box could entertain my child.  Not a day goes by that we don't find little "men" or a gold fish in our wipes container.  Our house looks like Toys R Us, yet the McDonalds toys (that are his bro's) and wipes containers can keep him entertained for hours.
Figures.
Peace.

Tuesday Mish-Mash

A convo Ty and I had last week:
Me: Ty, you need to eat some green beans before you get up
Ty: No Mama, I don't like 'em
Me: Ty, you need some color in your food
Ty: (goes to get his skittles bag) I want orange, yellow, green, purple and...
Ty has to push Acey all by himself.  Acey kind of likes it.
Okay, and some random thoughts because it's Tuesday and I'm all out of sorts...
-Ty started soccer Saturday.  I thought it was 1 game a week.  I thought wrong.  It's 2.  Saturday and Sunday.  Goodbye weekends.
-On another note, Ty and Ace were both sick last week.  Nothing like a call from school with an "Ace has a 101.4 temp and you need to come and get him call followed 1.5 hours later with a "Ty has a 101.8 temp and you need to come and get him" call.  They both had the "crud" and Ace's pink-eyed eyes were just pitiful.  Nothing is worse on a workin' Mama's heart than sick babies.  Thank goodness my MIL can save the day.  Again.  How do other working Mom's do it...really?  I wonder.
-Ace is going to be my kid that gets away with stuff because no matter what he does, he grins this cheesy, toothy grin and says "chhhheeeeeeeeeeese".  And, it's cute.  Like, really cute.
See?  Mama don't lie!
-Ty has hit yet another growth spurt.  Size 6 clothes, like 48 pounds or something, a 13.5 shoe, and he up to my belly button.  And, I'm 5'10.  And, he turned 3, 2 months ago.
-Ty also says things like "Mama, when I grow up I wanna be a baseball player on TV because their the coolest boys ever".  You know, like stuff big boys say.
-The Burger's and us...we're dining as 1 these days.  Steph and I have rotated cooking several times since they've moved in across the street from us.  And, it's heaven.  No leftovers, only one messy kitchen (okay, mine's always a mess but...), and it's like a mini-playdate on a school night!  It kind of makes me look forward to planning meals now.  My Mama would be so proud :)
-Acey might need a haircut on 1 of his hairs soon.  Okay, maybe 3 hairs.  My little cotton-top child seriously has the softest, whitest hair ever.
I think he's a lefty-Ace 15 months
-Ty's soccer is followed by indoor soccer, "intro to ice"-a 6 week ice-skating clinic, and basketball.  I'm sure tee-ball follows basketball.  And, he's 3.  Eeeeek!
-I will get to a UofL football game this year at least once.  I will.
-We'll be leaving for the beach in 3 weeks.  Insert :) here!
-Ty is having an AWFUL time with allergies this fall.  We're going back to the Allergist today because he's wheezing so bad.  He is asking for his "treapments" these days which scares me.  He's waking up in the middle of the night coughing so hard and wheezing it's pitiful.  Hopefully, we'll find an answer.

And that, my friends, is mish-mash.  Or mush.  That's how my brain works these days.  Doesn't everyone's?

Our Saturday...

Ty's first soccer game was today.  Today was 60% whining, 20% obsessing over Powerade and goldfish (bad call on letting Ty know we were the official "snack providers" of the game), and 20% trying to "get" soccer.
Ty actually scored 3 goals.  Okay, Ty kindsortamaybe scored 3 goals.  I mean, he used his hands (dude, you REALLY don't have to pick the ball up and carry it in front of the goal then kick it in for the GOOOOOOAL!).  But, he scored 3 goals...
Goal!!!
And, then we went to Brock's 6th Birthday Party.  I cannot believe little Brocky is 6!  It was a fishing party and it was perfect!  The weather was perfect too!  My parents came down for Ty's first soccer game so they partied with us too--that's how we roll...we're all one, big, happy family!

Never too old for a Spiderman Fishin' pole.  (Nice Dip Daddy!)

Watching the ducks from the bridge
Acey and Mimi...he only wanted her today at the Bday Party!

The Birthday Boy and Ty Man.  Todd caught this fish with a Spiderman pole.  He's a super-hero like that!
Sweet Jesus, snakes are eeeeeeeekkkkk!
Okay, so here's the deal of this effin' snake.  We saw his head pop out of the water and we're all "look at that turtle!".  Someone corrected us and told us it was a snake.  It went under the water and then about 10 minutes later we saw a dead fish floating.  Well, it wasn't really floating.  It was being moved...by a snake.  A water moccasin actually.  It held that little fish for forever on the edge of the water for all of us to see.
He was long and big and poisonous.  Ewww...I hate snakes.

This made me say bad words...
So yeah, the kids got a kick out of it and I got...well, I'm probably going to have nightmares about that damn snake.
