My Little Foodies

Score!!!
Last week I introduced a new rule. Ty and Ace have to try one new food a week.  Mama's choice.
Last week: Strawberries
They never have liked them.  I cut the stems off and told them both just to open their mouths.  I tossed in a small piece in both of their mouths and they both said "mmmmm!".  Then Ace said, "I want more Boobies Mama".  Yes, that's what he started calling them.  Berries turned to boobies and now it's gone...to the next level.
So of course, I laughed.  So did Ty.  Now Ty says things like "boobies are yummy Mama" and "I like big boobies Mama".
Like really, you're 3 dude.  Stopitnow.  Because I'm having a hard time keeping a straight face when his little bro' has NO IDEA what he's saying is funny wrong!
Popsicles are one of the 5 major food groups of summer.  And, Spring.  Hell, lets throw fall in there too.
This week: cucumbers.
Thank you Jesus!  I love cucumbers and I'm so glad they do too now!
Quick Recipe:  Cucumbers 'n Onions
Skin and slice 4 large cucumbers and place in a bowl
Place some onions (white) over them in the bowl (as much as desired--we only season with onions--some people eat them)
Pour some spelnda in 4 cup measuring cup and disolve it with vinegar.  Pour over cucumbers and onions.  Cover up the rest of the cusmbers and onions with hot water (not too much, just enough to cover).
Add salt and pepper and then put them in the 'fridge for about 4 hours.
Pure Heaven.

And, Ty even added an extra one last night: eggs!!!  Of course, ketchup was involved but seriously this is SUCH a big deal.  Ace is allergic to eggs so that's not even an option but Ty Man...YEAH!
He's already asking what the new food will be for next week.  I want it to be broccoli but I may be disappointed.
So, as a Mama to 2 boys that are picky (er) eaters at home than school, that are allergic to nuts and eggs (and, if you haven't ever researched foods like a Mama who has 2 son's with severe food allergies then try it just once.  It's frustrating!), and that have gag refluxes that result in award winning projectile vomiting performances, this is a win.
