13.1: Mission Accomplished

My 4th 1/2 marathon is now complete.

Me, Steph, and Misty.  So proud!
Done.
I did it.
My time wasn't good. My body hurts. Bad. But I did it.
I never, ever thought I'd run like hell again. I just thought after babies I was going to mosey on with my workouts on the elliptical and call it a day. Nope. Didn't happen. I started running again in small doses. 6am short pre-workday workouts turned to 5:15am long runs before work workouts.
Speed=there is none. Sub 2-hour? Nope. Can I beat my PR of 2:04:34? Maybe one day, but not even close on Saturday.

Pre Race Jitters
But I did it. And, I'm proud.
Setting goals has been a part of my life since I remember. Sports...it's what competition does to you.
And, this goal of running a 13.1 mile race was...well, a challenge. It took time. Training. Nights of little sleep. Help-my parents and in-laws helped so much. Not to mention it's baseball season and Todd's just a little busy and in different cities every other day.
I'm proof that your body can go through hell and back and you can do it.
This is my therapy.  I need it.
Will I run another mini? Good question. After feeling miserable from mile 8 until about 2 hours after the race, I can say now..."maybe".
But, I need to lose about 10 more lbs. and, I need to work on my speed. And, the race should probably not be during baseball season!
Maybe then I'll finish in 1:59:00 (oh, how I would LOVE that!)!!!
Owensboro Represents!
To our little running club: Steph, Misty, and Kiesha
THANK YOU for pushing me. For holding me accountable. And, for laughing "with" me when I fall on curbs :)
No really, our runs make my days better.  What's said on our runs stays on our runs...and for that, I am grateful.
We let Bryce join in too.  (for the record, Bryce ran trained for like a minute and he not only finsihed the race he BEAT me!!!)
This medal was for my boys.
By the time I got back home to my phone I had about 15 texts and missed calls (whoops...a dead phone for over 12 hours will do that for ya!)...and a crazy amount of facebook messages.  Encouragement.  Way to go's.  Awesome job. Hydrate. Pace tips.  Today's the day.
And, my favorite:
You worked your ass off.  Cross the finish line and be proud.  What an accomplishment!
And, I am.

Y3W: Only 1/2 Crazy

Quick update:
So yeah...I'm behind.  Promised pictures.  Vaca recaps.  Tee-ball.  Updates on the boys...because, well those are my favorite.
Life's happening.  I'm just trying to stay afloat.
And...I'm running a half marathon in the morning.
That would be 13.1 miles.  We're only 1/2 crazy!
What the hell am I thinkin'?

Anyhow, here are a couple of pic's of the boys:

They clearly were only in it for the gummies.  I wonder if we'll ever get another picture of them siting still AND looking at the camera at the same time!!!
And, just because I want to brag for a second...Ace can count to 14.  He's not even 2 yet.  He counted 12 Easter Eggs the day before we went to Florida.  We came home and he counted 14.
Not kidding.
Okay, so if I'm alive after this race tomorrow, I'll be going to Indy next week for work which MAY include sleeping in a hotel room ALLBYMYSELF which may be the most awesome thing ever.
Happy Friday!

WW: Beach Lovin'

Beach pictures make me happy...
Acey and Papaw.
Cupcakes at the beach make him happy...
Dude only eats the icing.  Silly goose!
My baby boy as the sun sets...
Ace Man.  His blonde hair cannot get any blonder.
Cousins at sunset...
E-fan (Ethan) kind of run's the show.  It's a good thing he's patient with the little one's!
More pic's to come from this awesome vaca soon.  Maybe I'll get bit by the blogging bug soon after we return because I've finally been able to unwind a bit this week too.  Well, unwind as much as a vacation with kid's can be.
No really, it's been awesome.  I could totally get used to life at the beach as long as Todd would be here.
It's 5 o'clock somewhere...

School Pic's

Do you ever see pictures of your kid's and think "that doesn't even look like them?".  I just did...
No, I did not give him extra doses of allergy med's before school.
Ace - 21 months
He looks confused.  The patent "Acey Cheese" is far from here.  In fact, if he said curse words I could totally feel in the blank with what he's thinking in this pic.
Brotherly Love.  Ty looks like Ty w/ a fake smile.  Ace is still like..."What's up with this camera biz today?  I come to school for snacks and the girls.  Let me play ya'll!"

Ty - 3
Can we say fake smile?

This class photo makes me laugh.  The back row is Ty's friend Ryleigh on one side and Hannah Bear on the other.  On most day's, Hannah is Ty's girlfriend.  Carrie, the little cutie in front of Ryleigh, is Ryleigh's girlfriend.  And, Ty and Ryleigh are best friends.  Sometimes those titles change, but those 4...I'm pretty sure they're double dating on the playground.  It's serious.

Another fake smile.  Little turkey.
Everyday on the way home from school Ty and I go back and forth asking questions about the day.
What did you learn?  Did you share?  Which direction to I turn to go home?  Did you eat your veggies at lunch?  Did you see Ace today?  Yada, yada.
He's over it.  Today he told me to turn the radio up.
He's 3.
What the heck is he going to tell me when he's 15?
